E-Learning App

Unique Treats
Project Overview:
Create an interactive learning App that allows users to explore easy-to-enjoy online classes in baking, cooking, and crafts plus a huge collection of kits and supplies and hundreds of project ideas from like-minded creative makers.

Target Audience/Market Research Summary:
Today’s society is suffering from the aftershocks of a severe economic crisis. This period of hardship has made the consumer embrace the collective memory of our mothers and grandmothers through different forms of gathering – needlework, cooking and crafting. Domestic craft has influenced the creation of contemporary textiles, materials, technologies and productions for home décor, design and fashion. The craft and hobby industry is a 30-billion-dollar industry.

Who are they? 
  • Crafters are significantly more likely to be female, have larger households, have children, and be younger than non-crafters.
    - 72% are women
    - 42% have children
    - Average 2.94 people per household 
    - Median age is between 35 and 44 
  • Ethnically, crafters are representative of the U.S. population and not different from non-crafters. 
  • Nearly half (47%) of crafters have been crafting for ten or more years.

The objective was to support the educational component Epicurean Delights created through its products, tools and services that support the consumer during their crafting culinary evolution.

Content Specification:
Content, graphics, stock photos and logos were provided by Epicurean Delights.


Design Specification:
Epicurean Delights was in the process of changing colors and logo design so adhering  to new brand guidelines was important. As a result the client had a fluid approach to the brand guidelines. Company identity to “Create, “Educate and “Celebrate” was to remain.

Additionally, a study in vocabulary was included to provide additional descriptive words to help address the potential look and feel.


Timeline: 
  • Phase 1: Market research, personas, creative brief and color/type mood board
  • Phase 2: Layout sketched wireframes, icon sketches 
  • Phase 3: Prototype and User Feedback
  • Phase 4: Final pitch, prototype mockups and all process work
